Leather Care
A little care goes a long way and will ensure your Pittards leathers will wear beautifully and last a long time.
Pittards Gloves
Pittards leather gloves may be washed in lukewarm water with mild soap flakes (the best way is to wear the gloves as if washing your hands). Rinse in plenty of clear water, gently squeeze any excess, gently pull out and leave to dry naturally. Just before the gloves are fully dry put the gloves on to re shape.
Pittards Leather by Type
Full grain leather: remove dirt with a soft brush, wipe with a damp cloth and leave to dry naturally. Polish with a little neutral polish if required - Pittards WR100 & WR100X water resistant leathers do not need further treatment with waterproofing agents as the performance is tanned into the leather and will last the life of the product.
Nubuck & Suede: remove dirt with a soft brush, wipe with a damp cloth and leave to dry naturally. Pittards WR100 & WR100X water resistant leathers do not need further treatment with waterproofing agents as the performance is tanned into the leather and will last the life of the product.
Waxed & Oiled leather: remove dirt with a soft brush, wipe with a damp cloth and leave to dry naturally. Top up with a little neutral leather cream, (always test first to check it does not affect the colour or finish) if required. Pittards WR100 & WR100X water resistant leathers do not need further treatment with waterproofing agents as the performance is tanned into the leather and will last the life of the product.
A neat trick with a waxed or oiled leather that has a surface scratch is to work over the mark with your thumbs. The warmth from your hands encourages the wax or oil to move over the scratch and so fill it in.
